We are the Lord’s warriors in His good fight
Taking in the broken in the darkness of night
Restless and weary we reach out for Him
When our strength is used up and our nerves are worn thin
We are not saints but we all do our best
To serve His children and fight our flesh
We’ve been in darkness and had fallen away
And still He pursued us and shown us His Way
We are set free of the chains that we wore
We seek His goodness, His wisdom and more
We must be the Love of a world that is lost
And save them from ruin, regardless the cost
No one is less than, too broken or bad
For there once was I, with the sins that I had
Far be it for me to tear anyone down
When we are so loved by the One with the Crown
Lord, I remind you, though I know it’s Your will
That I lean on Your discernment, Your love but still
I ask when I fall short that You help me repent
So that I don’t damage the ones that you sent
Please give me the wisdom and love every day
To never turn back or cause others to stray
Speak life through me, Lord, to the ones who cry out
Remind me what leadership is all about
Use me forever until my last breath
Humble me Lord; keep me close to Your breast
And when this old warrior is lacking in fight
Take me, My Lord, into that good night.
