Dirty Rags

Lost and dirty rags I wore,
Distrust and Selfish to the core,
The who I was, even I abhorred,
but I'm not that person any more.

No shame for wrongs and all for me,
even good, was publicly,
trapped in sins abundantly,
but You forgave and I am free.

Blocked it out but lived in pain,
consequence hit time and again,
Ignored the Truth and took the shame,
But in Your arms, I overcame.

I owe a debt I can't repay.
You do not want it anyway.
Your Precious Son who was betrayed
has taken all my sins away.

I question myself, just the same,
But Your purpose, Your glory, I remain,
Anxious just to serve Your name,
Lord, give me ample chance to proclaim.

I'm at Your mercy, I declare!
now I'm on fire with love to spare,
So many needs, I wish to bare,
Lord, show me how I can prepare!
